Your choice of soap depends on what you are going to clean. Products such as Dawn or Ivory dish soap, as well as baking soda, make excellent mild soaps for cleaning dishes as well as countertops, cabinets and ovens.
To clean using dish soaps, mix approximately one tablespoon of soap with one cup of water. This mix is excellent for general surfaces such as countertops and cabinets. If using baking soda, dilute one part baking soda in three parts warm water. This makes a paste that can be used for scrubbing burned-on stains such as those found on ovens. When looking for mild dish soaps, look for products that do not use artificial scents, as well as products that contain ingredients that soothe skin, such as aloe vera.
