Generic microwave wall mounts may be as simple as two brackets, while others may include a shelf. Since a microwave is a relatively heavy appliance, any mounting bracket should be secured to the wall studs with wood screws. Standard microwaves can be mounted on a wall if they are not directly above a stove. If installing over a stove, select an over-the-range microwave unit that has a filter and vent for circulating the air from the stove. Over-the-range models come with a mounting kit so that the unit can be secured to the wall and the cabinet above it. Microwave options include horizontal exhaust, vertical vent and non-vented, which recirculates the air.Learn more about Microwaves
