James Hardie offers multiple boards, such as the 4/4 Rustic, 4/4 Smooth, 4/4 NT3 Smooth, 5/4 Rustic and 5/4 Smooth. The rustic variations feature surfaces that are meant to mimic wood; however, they are both rot- and warp-proof. The smooth variations feature even surfaces with James Hardie's ColorPlus technology, allowing the color to last for years. Only the Rustic Grain Batten Boards, Smooth Batten Boards and Brick Mould Casing are available in all 14 colors. Most boards are available in eight or less colors, but the 5/4 Rustic and 4/4 Rustic are available in 12 colors, as of 2015.

There are only two types of siding available: the Staggered Edge Panel and Straight Edge Panel. The Staggered Edge Panels provide a more relaxed and uneven look while the Straight Edge Panel forms a perfectly even and uniform look. Both types of siding are available in all 14 colors, as of 2015.
