Make a homemade spider trap by first acquiring the necessary materials and tools, including an empty cereal box, scissors, duct tape and a permanent marker. Once you have the supplies, cut the template for the trap, line it with tape and connect it together.
Start by finding an empty cereal box. Using measuring tape or a ruler, measure a section of the box to 4 inches long by 3 inches high. Mark the length and height of the trap on the cereal box with a permanent marker and draw a rectangular outline for cutting.
Using scissors, cut the template for the trap and fold it into a triangular tube by folding up both sides to meet the center. The tube should also be 4 inches long and 3 inches high when folded. Using double-sided tape, line the inner flat center of the triangle tube. Tangle-Trap Insect Coating, which can be purchased at garden centers, can be used instead of the tape.
Finally, connect the triangle ends using duct tape. The traps should be placed along baseboards or in the corners of the home. Other areas to place the traps include beneath the kitchen and bathroom sinks and near food and office supplies.
