To remove magic marker stains from clothing, place the fabric on a towel with the stained side down, moisten it with rubbing alcohol, blot it with a rag, repeat until the stain disappears, and launder the garment. This one-hour process requires a towel, cloths, rubbing alcohol, detergent and a laundry machine.
- Saturate the stain with rubbing alcohol
Put the fabric on a clean towel with the stained side down. Place a drop of rubbing alcohol on a hidden part of the fabric, and wait several seconds. If the fabric does not change color, pour alcohol over the stain, and give the fabric 60 seconds to absorb it.
- Blot the stain with a rag
Press a rag over the stained area, and hold it there for several seconds. Remove the rag, and reposition the stain so that it rests against a clean part of the towel. Blot the stain with a clean section of the rag. Continue blotting and repositioning the stain until it disappears.
- Launder the clothing
Launder the garment according to the directions on its care label. If the care label prohibits washing the fabric, pour water over the affected portion, and blot it with a towel. Dry the garment.
