Pansies bloom for two to four seasons a year depending on where they are planted. Generally, they bloom in spring and summer, although pansies may bloom through the fall and winter in USDA Zones 7 and higher.
Pansies self-seed so even if they only bloom in the spring and summer, they bloom again the following year. The best way to get them to bloom is by placing them in full sun or at least mostly sun with partial shade. When the weather begins to get hotter, move the pansy plant to partial shade to maintain its bloom for a longer time frame. Pansies reach no taller than 8 inches or no wider than 12 inches. Pansies grow in the ground and in containers, making them a great plant for different landscaping options.
