Most microfiber furniture should provide good wear due to the density of the material. It cannot be said exactly how long a piece of furniture will last, but the material is very durable and should hold up for decades.
The one exception to this long-lasting quality is that microfiber is sensitive to heat. If exposed to intense heat or moderate heat over a long period of time, the microfiber furniture may glaze or scorch.
Another reason that microfiber is long-lasting is because microfiber can be water-repellent due to the fine yarns being very tightly packed. Those same yarns are simultaneously porous enough to allow the material to breathe after it has come into contact with water. Microfiber also feels less clammy than other fibers during warm weather.
