From 2009 to 2015, LG Electronics voluntarily recalled three top-loading washing machine models, five electric range models and three gas dryer models. These were all announced on the company's website on the Public Notices page.
In 2012, LG Electronics recalled approximately 457,000 top-loading washing machines due to risk of injury. The washing machines shook excessively when washing an unbalanced load, which could potentially cause the drum to come loose, leading to injury or property damage. Recalled models included the WT5101HW, WT5101HV and WT5001CW. The report encouraged buyers to contact LG Electronics immediately for in-home repair. In the same year, the company recalled electric range models LRE30453, LRE30757, LRE30955ST, LRE30451 and LRE30755. The company received reports of burners failing to turn off after being switched to the Off position, posing a fire hazard and risk of burns. Consumers were encouraged to stop using the ranges until repaired. The recalled models were sold from 2006 to 2010.
Approximately 21,000 gas dryers were recalled in 2012, including models DLG0452W, DLG2051W and DLG1320W. In some instances, the dryer and its contents continued to heat after the drying cycle finished due to the gas valve failing to shut off. This could lead to scorching of the dryer contents and risk of fire or burns.
