LED lights are a good choice for garages because they are less temperature-sensitive than fluorescent bulbs and can tolerate extreme temperatures in rooms lacking climate control. They are also cheaper to operate and last longer.
LED bulbs convert 80 percent of electricity into light whereas traditional incandescent bulbs convert only 20 percent of the energy intake, so they require more electricity to operate. Homeowners rarely need to replace LED bulbs, as the bulbs have an average life of 100,000 hours, reducing replacement costs and waste from disposing spent bulbs. LED bulbs also illuminate quickly and do not emit ultraviolet light.
