Gray is the least expensive asphalt tile color. Specialtycolors like blue, green and red tend to be moreexpensive.
Other factors that changethe cost of asphalt tiles are cutouts, thickness orweight, specialty design and shape. Most economical asphalt tiles have a three-tab cutout style, whereas premium architectural tiles, or tiles designed to have the look and shape ofwood or slate, have no cutouts. Thicker tiles are more long lasting, but the price tag is higher given the amount of material in each tile.
Asphalt tiles, which are the most common roofing material on residential homes, are designed to last from 15 to 30 years depending on the environment they are in and the pitch of the roof on which they are installed.
