Remove latex paint from clothes by blotting excess paint away, rinsing the garment from the back, tapping the paint with a sponge moistened with dishwashing detergent, and rinsing the garment. You must dab and rinse the spot repeatedly until you eliminate any remaining traces. The amount of time required for this process varies depending on the size and number of spots.
- Blot away excess paint
Removing paint is easiest if you begin the process while the paint is still wet. Use paper towels to blot away as much paint from the fabric as possible. If the paint dries before you discover it, gently scrape away as much of the paint as possible.
- Rinse the garment from the back
Turn on the water in a sink, and rinse the spot from the back of the fabric. Avoid rinsing from the front, as this drives the paint deeper into the clothing fibers.
- Apply a dishwashing detergent solution
Mix equal amounts of liquid dishwashing detergent and water. Dip a clean sponge into the solution, and tap the front of the stain with the sponge. Avoid scrubbing. Once the spot is saturated, rinse the spot, and check for any remaining paint. Repeat this process until the stain is gone.
- Launder the garment
After treating the paint satin, launder the garment as normal.
