KitchenAid authorized repair occurs when a customer schedules an in-home appointment for large appliances or finds an authorized service center for countertop devices. Both services are available through the KitchenAid website, as of March 2015.
Individuals can schedule an at-home appointment by selecting the type of appliance such as a wall oven, dishwasher, grill, range or microwave. Customers input the model number and the serial number. A drop-down menu contains a problem type. For instance, an electric cooktop has 12 specific problem areas, including broken knob, heating problem, no operation, noisy and odor.
All service calls scheduled through the KitchenAid website's customer service portal are performed by factory-authorized repair technicians.
KitchenAid's service locator lets users input an address or ZIP code to find the nearest service outlet for countertop appliances that customers can easily lift. The closest repair shop to that address appears in a column to the left of the map at the center of the screen.
Customers can also call KitchenAid's customer service telephone number at 1-800-422–1230 for major appliances and 1-800-541–6390 for countertop appliances to assist with service calls. Telephone operators are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, to help customers. Live chat and email contact options also start from this portion of the website.
