Some items sold at La-Z-Boy Clearance stores are recliners, ottomans, sofas, tables and chairs. La-Z-Boy also manufactures sectionals, love seats and sleepers which may be available in clearance stores. Factory outlets selling La-Z-Boy clearance items are authorized independent retailers not owned and operated by the furniture manufacturer itself.
According to its website, La-Z-Boy does not have any factory outlets. As of 2015, OutletTable.com lists 409 La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries nationwide and only six La-Z-Boy Outlet stores, all in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
Furniture stores typically offer a full line of La-Z-boy products, including the reclining chairs the brand is best known for. Many furniture dealerships sell some of their excess inventory at sale prices on clearance or as-is. These pieces may be over-stocked, floor models or discontinued items. Clearance sales or price adjustments are at the discretion of the store.
Started in the 1920s, La-Z-Boy once manufactured only chairs. In 1961 the company introduced the Reclina-Rocker, a chair that both rocks and reclines. The company added reclining sofas and sleepers in 1969, and the product line expanded again in the 1980s to include non-reclining sofas and chairs. As of 2015, La-Z-Boy owns four subsidiary brands offering living room furnishings, accent pieces and bedroom and dining collections.
