Full Answer

  1. Choose a location

Choose where you want to install the lights, and ensure the power cord is able to reach an electrical outlet.

  2. Connect the lights

Set each lighting unit on top of the counter underneath the desired locations. Connect each light with the included cords.

  3. Mark the screw locations

Find the mounting template that came with the under-cabinet lighting kit. Position the template underneath the cabinet where you want to install the unit and toward the front of the cabinet, and mark the positions of the screw holes. Repeat with the remaining cabinets.

  4. Drill the holes

Equip a power drill with a 1/16-inch drill bit. Drill a 5/8-inch deep hole at each marked screw hole location.

  5. Install the lighting units

Install the screws with a screwdriver until only 1/8 of an inch of the threads on the screws are exposed. Mount the lighting units on the screws, and ensure each unit is hidden underneath the cabinet.

  6. Route the electrical cords

Install the electrical cable staples under the cabinet, and route the cords through them.

  7. Turn on the lights

Insert the bulbs into each unit, and install the covers. Plug in the power cord, and flip on the switch that controls the outlet, or turn on the main unit.
