Before removing the old ice maker, unplug or turn off the power to the refrigerator, and then disconnect the water supply line. On the side of the ice maker, undo the screws holding it in place. Gently move the ice maker off to the side, and disconnect the electrical plug or wiring harness. Once disconnected, the old ice maker can be removed.
Make the electrical connections to the new ice maker, and insert it into the space in the refrigerator. Secure the new machine to the fridge with the included screws. Once the ice machine is installed, reconnect the water supply, and restore the power to the refrigerator.
This replacement ice maker kit is manufactured by Frigidaire and fits a variety of refrigerators from different manufacturers. Ice maker models are typically noted on the back of the refrigerator. The M1, and other models, can be replaced with this upgraded ice maker kit. The electrical connections with the replacement may be different than the original ice maker.
