  1. Blot the stain with acetone

Use a towel that you do not mind discarding or that you do not mind using for other purposes if it the ink stain transfers onto it. If the stain is on the leg of the jeans, place the towel between the layers of denim so the stain does not transfer to the other side of the leg. Blot with pure acetone, available from most cosmetics departments. Continue blotting and turning the towel until most of the stain is gone. Rinse the jeans in water to remove any remaining acetone.

  2. Apply liquid laundry detergent

Pour liquid laundry detergent on the stain. Allow the jeans to sit for about five minutes. Do not rinse the detergent from the pants.

  3. Wash the jeans

Put the jeans in the washing machine and fill with warm water. Add the normal amount of detergent to the load and allow it to complete a wash cycle. Do not machine dry the jeans until the stain is gone.
