OxiClean is used for whitening white attire, brightening clothing items or removing stains from clothes. Sodium percarbonate is environmentally friendly as are the other minerals and natural constituents included in OxiClean, making it an environmentally friendly product. When mixed with warm water, sodium percarbonate breaks into hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate, also known as soda ash or washing soda. In laundry, sodium carbonate acts as a water softener and is also responsible for removing all kinds of stains, including wine, oil and grease.
Hydrogen peroxide breaks down into oxygen and water when mixed with warm water. Oxygen changes the pH level of the wash water, making it more alkaline. This improves the performance of the detergent being used to wash clothes.
OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover has additional ingredients, specifically soil-dispersing agents, which assist in removing stain from clothes. This product is available in two versions: free and regular. The free version has no perfume or dye additives; however, both versions are considered "green" and are septic-tank safe.Learn more about Cleaning Products
