An infrared rotisserie burner is a grill accessory that allows individuals to grill meat and other foods rotisserie-style using an infrared burner. They are typically found pre-installed in infrared gas grills and consist of a pronged pole for the food that rotates in front of the burner.
Infrared burners started becoming popular in gas grills in the early 2000s. Though fans of the device claim that burners make juicer, better-tasting meat, their only proven benefit is that the infrared technology can quickly reach over 700 Fahrenheit, thus cooking food much faster than ordinary gas grills. The rapid cooking time means that food requires constant supervision while cooking, because it can shift from seared to burnt within a few minutes.
