An induction oven is a cooking appliance that uses a high-frequency electromagnet as its heat source. The electromagnetic energy created by the magnet heats food receptacles made of magnetic material, such as cast-iron pans, instead of the air surrounding them. Non-magnetic containers do not heat in an induction oven.
An induction oven cuts down on energy use and does not require a significant wait time to reach the desired temperature. Because most of the oven stays cool during the cooking process, this oven does not warm a kitchen the way a conventional oven does. An induction oven also uses a fan, which can be noisy, and it is typically more expensive than a traditional oven.
