To get rid of birds, use exclusion tactics and bird repellents. Killing the birds is not recommended because many states have laws against killing certain types of birds.
First, assess how many and what kind of birds are present, and wait until the birds are finding food and water to clean up bird droppings.
The best way to get rid of birds is to prevent them from roosting and nesting by blocking entry into the building or destroying their preferred roosting areas. Use of bird repellents in the nesting and roosting sites is another strategy to eliminate birds. Types of bird repellents include tactile chemical repellents that make the birds physically uncomfortable, mechanical repellents such as spikes and wire that make it difficult for the birds to land, and sound and visual repellents that scare birds away.
