Hardwood floor protectors are products attached to the bottom of furniture to reduce the likelihood of scratching when moving the furniture. Hardwood floor protectors come in a wide range of materials such as felt pads, rolling casters and rubber glides.
Homeowners can apply felt pad floor protectors using an adhesive that binds to many different types of furniture material. Felt pads are easy to install, come in a variety of shapes and thicknesses, and they muffle the noise of moving furniture. The downside of felt pad protectors is that the adhesive wears off quickly which causes the pads to fall off.
Rolling casters and rubber glides are more permanent than felt pad protectors. However, rubber glides are not suitable for furniture that is moved frequently as this can cause the rubber to scuff the floor.
