Haier central air conditioner models include the 1.5 ton HR18D2VAE, the 3.5 ton HC42D1VAR and the 3 ton HC36D1VAR. Haier no longer advertises these models on the company website. As of October 2015, the Haier product line includes single-zone and multi-zone ductless systems for air conditioning.
All Haier central air conditioners are constructed with a full metal jacket to protect the coils. Each unit requires 208 to 230 volts of AC power. The units use reliable, name-brand compressors and permanently lubricated fan motors. The HC42D1VAR and the HC36D1VAR use R-22 refrigerant. The HR18D2VAE uses R-410A refrigerant. The HR18D2VAE is a split-system central heating, venting and air conditioning unit with a heat pump.
The Haier ductless systems pair an outdoor unit with indoor units to deliver air conditioning to targeted zones in a building. Outdoor units are designed to support either a single zone or multiple zones. Indoor units include wall-mount units, cassettes and slim-duct units. Each unit is designed for different indoor cooling applications. The wall-mount unit provides the longest air-flow distance up to an advertised 60 feet. The compact cassette features a fresh-air inlet. The slim duct unit is less than 8 inches high for spaces with minimal clearance.
