Guardian Service cookware was generally made out of aluminum, though glass lids were incorporated during the World War II years as metal became scarce. The company also became involved in aeronautics during the war, not producing any cookware by the time the war ended. The Guardian Service line of cookware was relaunched after the war and continued production until 1956, when the manufacturing plant burned down.
As of August 2015, the cookware is regarded as collectible for nostalgic reasons as well as its effectiveness in the kitchen. Glass lids carry a premium price tag, as they are far more fragile than the aluminum components.Learn more about Cookware & Kitchen Tools
