There are numerous ways to grow fenugreek, but one simple option is to grow it in potted soil. Sow soaked fenugreek seeds into a pot of rich, well-drained soil. Water the soil just until moist, but not soaked, and place the pot in a sunny area.
- Soak the seeds
Place the seeds in a shallow bowl, and cover them with water. Allow them to soak overnight or for several hours.
- Sow the seeds
Fill a pot or container with rich, well-drained soil, then sow the seeds about 1/4-inch deep into the soil.
- Water the soil
Water the soil just until it is moist to the touch. Avoid adding too much water and oversaturating the soil.
- Set the pot in a sunny spot
Place the pot of fenugreek seeds in an area of your home that receives plenty of sunlight. Although you can keep the pot outdoors, fenugreek does not grow well in cold weather, so keep it indoors in the winter or if frost is a factor.
- Harvest the fenugreek
Expect to see sprouts appear within five days. You can harvest the sprouts for consumption, but if you wish to use the leaves, it takes about three weeks for the leaves to reach maturity.
