To get grease out of clothing, blot the grease with a clean cloth, soften the stain with a paste of dishwashing liquid and baking soda, and rinse the clothing with water. If necessary, add spot remover to the paste, and repeat the process. Lastly, air dry the garment. Treating the stain as soon as possible will increase the chance of complete removal.
- Blot the grease
Use a clean cloth to blot the grease from the garment. Blot from edges of the stain towards the center to avoid spreading the stain.
- Apply the remover
Prepare a paste of dishwashing liquid and baking soda. Apply the paste to the stain, and work the paste into the fabric by scrubbing it with a toothbrush. Turn the garment, scrub the opposite side of the stain, then allow the paste to sit for at least five minutes. Rinse off the paste with clean water and air dry the clothing.
- Apply spot remover to stubborn stains
To remove a stubborn stain, add spot remover to the paste, apply the paste to the stain, scrub the stain with a toothbrush on both sides, and let the paste sit for 10 minutes. Once the stain is loose, wash the garment with cold water, and dry it in the sun. Repeat the process as needed until the stain disappears.
