A good wet-tile saw for cutting ceramic and porcelain tile combines power, cutting speed and size capacity with cutting quality, accuracy and portability. Contractors Direct tested a selection of seven models from six manufacturers, determining that the DeWalt D24000S best fits these criteria.
The DeWalt D24000S can make up to 24-inch cuts to tile, with the water pump feature used to cool the cutting surface. It features a variable-depth stop setting, allowing for shallow plunge cuts as well as smoother push cuts. DeWalt designed the saw to sit on a rack over an integral drip pan, raised on a folding leg stand. A unique side tray catches stray droplets during the cutting action, preventing more mess than other saws.
