Baking soda absorbs odors from other materials, so placing an open box in the refrigerator helps to keep it odor free. For a dirty fridge, mix baking soda in water, and scrub the inside of the appliance with the solution. Sprinkle dry baking soda on the carpet, and allow 15 minutes standing time before vacuuming. For a child's stuffed animals, place the toys in a large plastic bag, add a cup of baking soda, shake, and allow the bag to sit overnight before vacuuming away the powder and odors.
