Clean cooking grease spills on surfaces by applying water and baking soda to the affected areas, then wiping the mixture away with a wet cloth. Sprinkle cornstarch on a dry cloth to rub the stain away. Talcum powder and chalk also work well to absorb grease.
To remove cooking grease from fabrics, apply a small amount of liquid dish soap to the stain, and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Run the fabric through the washing machine, and repeat if necessary. Food grease stains can also be removed from fabrics by applying a few drops of standard hair shampoo to the affected area, allowing it to set, then laundering the garment as usual.
