Eat-in kitchens can also reduce clutter by using chairs without arms or stools that fit under a counter.
Removing doors improves traffic flow and integrates the kitchen with other rooms. Taking out all or part of a wall has the same effect. Installing cabinets and appliances that extend the same distance from the wall streamlines the kitchen, allowing people to work without bumping into objects. As in any kitchen, the stove or cooktop, refrigerator and sink should be within a step or two of each other to prepare food efficiently.
