Some good homemade pest control sprays include vinegar of the four thieves insect repellent and a citrus oil and cayenne pepper mix against ants. A soap, orange citrus oil and water spray is another good pest control spray that is easy to make at home.
To make the vinegar of the four thieves insect repellent, mix 32 ounces of apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons each of dried sage, rosemary, lavender, thyme and mint. Pour the mixture into a glass jar with an airtight lid, and seal the jar. Shake it every day for two to three weeks. It is better to place the jar somewhere where you can see it every day, so that you don't forget to shake it. When the repellent is ready, remove the herbs, and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. When applying the mixture to the skin, dilute it in half with water.
To make citrus oil and cayenne pepper mix, add 10 drops of citrus essential oil and 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to 1 cup of warm water, and stir the mixture until it is combined.
To make the soap, orange citrus oil and water spray, add 3 tablespoons of liquid organic Castile soap and 1 ounce of orange oil to 1 gallon of water. Stir the mixture well, and use it on slugs.
