There are different types of heaters suitable for a basement, including radiant heating systems, electric heaters, ceramic heaters and propane heaters. The size of basement and the personal preferences of the homeowners determine the type of heater used.
Radiant heating systems are clean and energy efficient. They heat the basement by heating the floor from below using radiation tubes filled with air or water. Electric heaters work well for larger basements and are safe and easy to use. Ceramic heaters are good for those on a budget, and contain a fan on the inside that blows hot air created by a ceramic heating element. Propane heaters are great for basements 300 square feet or smaller. These heaters do not require electrical installation.
