Some good brands of bed sheets include JCPenney Cindy Crawford Style 400 Thread Count, QVC Northern Nights Chloe 640 Thread Count and Bed Bath & Beyond Palais Royal sheets, according to Good Housekeeping. All three sheet brands received four-and-a-half stars from the Good Housekeeping testers.
Thread count, which specifies how many threads are in one square-inch of the fabric, is one good indicator of quality, as higher density means higher strength, states Real Simple. While thread count is important, the material and weave are also important indicators of quality. Cotton works well for sheets because it is breathable, but Egyptian cotton and Pima cotton are higher quality and typically softer than cotton and polyester blends. The weave, which includes percale, sateen, flannel and twill, also affects the feel and durability of the sheets.
