Many of General Electric's appliances, such as its refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, air conditioners, water heaters and air purifiers are energy efficient. Many of these products meet the requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR program.
ENERGY STAR qualification means that a product meets a certain standard of energy efficiency set by the EPA. The EPA constantly checks the standards of these products to make sure that they maintain their efficiency levels.
GE claims that the efficient versions of their products provide additional benefits to the consumer. For example, an ENERGY STAR qualified dishwasher tends to save the consumer an average of $120 over the lifetime of the product, as of 2015. Some of the products, such as General Electric washers, may make consumers eligible for utility rebates. Other benefits that can be gained from purchasing energy efficient products include exemptions on sales tax and tax credits.
General Electric has hundreds of products that are deemed as energy efficient. These products are found on the General Electric appliances webpage, which doesn't just provide a list of products for consumers to choose from, but it also gives information on some of the benefits and efficiency levels of their items compared to those that aren't listed as being efficient.
