GE Home Security is a home security system the company monitors 24 hours a day. A homeowner has the system installed in their home, and when there is an emergency, the system transmits a signal to one of GE's monitoring centers.
GE Home Security offers a lot of protection, including a monitored burglary system, medical emergency assistance, smoke and heat sensor assistance and manual police emergency assistance. The company also assists with AC power failures and offers a manual fire alarm, a carbon monoxide detector, water sensors and freeze sensors.
When the security sensor sends a signal to the monitoring center, the center attempts to call the homeowner to obtain the personal identification code on the account. If the individual who answers the phone can't provide the code or if no one answers the phone, local authorities are notified and dispatched to the home. From there, the local authorities determine the reason for the disturbance and respond to any emergency situation.
The GE Security key-chain remote allows the homeowner to arm and disarm their home system from any room in the house. There is a panic button feature that allows the alarm to be activated from 75 feet away from the home. Children can arm and disarm the security system as they come home to an empty house after school.
