Garment care labels tell people how to care for fabrics. The labels may include text or pictures that relay information such as washing and drying temperature, and whether or not it is okay to use chlorine bleach on a particular garment.
Garment care labels are sewn into a variety of different garments. They say things like "machine wash cold" or "tumble dry low heat." Some garments need to be dry cleaned, and instructions for this procedure is often listed.
Some garment labels now display pictures rather than text. For example, the symbol for "dry clean only" is a circle and the symbol for "do not iron with steam" is an iron with an "X" underneath.
