A furnace wire diagram is typically used to aid in furnace repairs by showing the exact layout of furnace electrical wires. A furnace wire diagram normally includes wire color codes and numbers to allow for easy wire identification.
There are generally three types of electrical furnace diagrams: schematic, wiring and position. The schematic diagram is typically a ladder type drawing with vertical lines indicating power sources. The components are displayed in succession to show the path of electricity through the unit. The wiring diagram shows where the wires connect to the components and label each individual wire to show where the wires should be placed if they need to be repaired. The position diagram shows where each part of an electrical panel is located.
