The term front desk is often used when referring to a hotel lobby. The front desk is manned by clerks who check in arriving guests and answer questions about accommodations, tourist attractions, driving directions or events happening in or around the hotel. It is also usually the last stop for departing guests when they check out of their hotel rooms. Guests can pay their bills, park their baggage or get help with ordering transportation services to nearby airports or car rental agencies.
It is also common to see front desks in office buildings staffed with clerks or security guards who oversee the comings and goings of building employees and greet office visitors. After visitors check in at the front desk, they may be asked to wait, escorted further into the building or directed to their destination. In large buildings or corporate offices, front desks are sometimes equipped with security cameras to help ensure the safety of staff and visitors.Learn more about Furniture
