AB Electrolux of Sweden makes Frigidaire and all of Frigidaire's products as of 2015. AB Electrolux purchased Frigidaire in 1986 from White Consolidated Industries, the company that bought Frigidaire from General Motors in 1979.
Frigidaire manufactures home appliances. The company is commonly known for its refrigerators, window-mounted air conditioners and dishwashers. However, Frigidaire also manufactures coffee makers, blenders, griddles and other common household appliances.
Frigidaire was originally created by Guardian Frigerator Co. In a period of financial hardship, Guardian's company leaders sold the business to General Motors President Billy Durant in 1918, who resold it to General Motors. GM renamed it Frigidaire.
