What Faults Does the Maytag Company Cover Regarding a Dishwasher?

Quick Answer

Maytag's limited warranty for dishwashers covers defects in materials or workmanship present at purchase. Parts and labor are covered for the first year, but for years two through 10, only racks, chopper blades, stainless steel tubs and door liners are covered. No labor is covered after the first year.

Cosmetic damage is only covered by warranty if it results from a defect and is reported within 30 days of purchase. Other scratches, dents, chips and finish damage are not covered by any warranty. This includes cosmetic damage to, or removal or re-installation of, fixtures and other components around the appliance.

Maytag's warranty is void if the dishwasher's model or serial number is removed, altered or otherwise cannot be determined. It only covers in-home repairs and is not valid for service that requires pickup or delivery. Commercial or other use not covered by the user's manual also voids the warranty, and consumable parts, accidents and damage due to abuse are never warrantied.

Maytag offers repair or replacement of products not covered by warranty, but it is not free. The customer bears all costs associated with these services or for labor after the first year of the warranty. The warranty is only valid in the United States and Canada, and the dishwasher must be used in the country where it has been purchased. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty service.
