Empire is a company that manufactures space heaters that are powered by propane. Their product line consists of the Empire Vent Free, Empire Direct Vent and Empire Conventional Vent space heaters.
As the name indicates, Empire Vent Free heaters do not require a venting system. The Vent Free product line has a number of model types, including the BF, HB, HR and SR models. The number that immediately follows the model name indicates the BTUs that the unit puts out in thousands. For example, the SR10 is a 10,000 BTU unit.
The Empire Direct Vent systems use outside heat to improve energy efficiency. The DV series has models for heating both small and large areas. The DV210 and DV215 are intended for smaller rooms, while the DV25 and above are for larger areas.
Empire Conventional Vent systems require an existing flue to vent exhaust. They are vented vertically and are well suited to replacing existing wood stoves. There are a wide range of model types in this product line, including up-vent wall furnaces and B-vent room heaters. The RH50B and RH65B B-vent heaters have a one-piece glass enclosure that allows the flame to be seen as it heats. Optional ceramic logs can also be added.
