Viridian Energy offers 3DOM fixed-rate plans as well as Auto-Flex and Self-Flex plans. The 3DOM fixed plans are three-year commercial and residential plans offered to new customers. The 3DOM plans are different from other plans in that they lock in a set rate determined at the time of sign-up. Viridian also offers term-free plans that have a variable monthly rate. The fixed plan offers a term-end rebate as well.
The Flex plans allow the customer to lock in their rate at a later point during their term or to set an automatic lock-in for a point later in the three-year term. Exact rates vary depending on the service area.
Monthly variable rate plans provide a rate that can change from month to month, based on the company operating components and the cost of energy. The benefit of the monthly variable rate is that it offers the most flexibility, and it eliminates any penalties to switch plans or cancel. Fixed-rate plans give customers protection against changes in the market, but there is a $50 termination fee for cancelling before the term ends. In addition to the 36-month term plans, customers can choose term plans starting at six months to one year, depending on their service area.
