Eemax water heaters use direct heating elements to transfer heat directly to water without the use of a tank, resulting in 99 percent thermal energy efficiency. Because these systems heat water instantly and only when needed, there is no standby heat loss.
Unlike other heating technologies such as sheathed elements and quartz tubes, Eemax's direct heating elements deliver a low thermal mass for quick adjustments, and they instantly shut down when the user is done to avoid overshoot and wasted energy. The lack of a tank also means users don't have to waste water while waiting for their water to heat up. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that users enjoy energy savings of approximately 50 percent when using a tankless water heater.
Eemax water heaters are designed to prevent calcification and liming using a patented water flow system that keeps particles from gathering on the heating element, and the lack of a tank means the heaters are naturally rust-free. The water heaters are 90 percent smaller than standard tank heaters, so they can fit in small spaces such as under a bathroom sink. Although the heaters are designed to last at least 10 years, many have been reported to last more than 20 years.
