A dusk-to-dawn light fixture contains a photocell that activates the light bulb at dusk and turns it off at dawn. The photocell turns the light bulb off when it detects light and turns the bulb on when it no longer detects light.
Dusk-to-dawn light fixtures come in a variety of styles and bulb types. Fixtures are available that support LEDs, miniature fluorescent bulbs, flood lights and incandescent bulbs. Fixtures are done in colors including black, white, aged iron, brown and bronze. Certain models also come with a sensor that turns the bulb on or brightens the bulb when motion is detected.
