A dryer control board is a circuit board that operates the electrical parts in dryers with electronic controls, similar to a timer's function in timer-controlled machines. If the dryer does not start, the control board might be the reason. The dryer control board is usually in dryer's primary control panel.
Evidence of a defective dryer control board can include burn marks on the board or signs of an electrical short on its components. Defective boards require replacement. The tools needed to replace the electronic board are a small slot screwdriver, a 0.25-inch nut wrench, a pair of work gloves and a vacuum.
