Occasionally, Stanley garage door openers can be overworked. This causes the overload protector to activate. Wait 10 minutes or so before you try opening the garage door.
Another common problem is a malfunctioning wall button. Inspect the wires to make sure they are not broken or shorted. Disconnect the wires from the back of the opener, and "short" across the two screw terminals.
