While old pillows cannot be put in the recycling, many places such as homeless shelters, dog shelters, Goodwill and other charity organizations will accept pillow donations. Before simply throwing away old pillows, explore alternative ways to dispose of pillows such as recycling within the home, donating or selling.

Charity and re-use organizations are often in desperate need of bedding. If the pillows are in good shape, one can simply drop them off at a donation center and they will be put to good use. If the pillow is damaged, repairing the fabric is simple and inexpensive. Finally, since pillows cannot be put in the recycling, if the pillow is not in good enough shape to use, simply dispose of the pillow in the garbage.
