Companies that only manufacture dishwashers in the United States include Frigidaire, Whirlpool and Bosch, states Consumer Reports. For appliances to bear the made-in-America label, the majority of parts used must also be made and assembled in the United States. Otherwise, the appliance is labeled as assembled in the United States.
Frigidaire's 24-inch Gallery line of dishwashers bear the built-with-American-pride label, verifying the dishwashers are designed and assembled in the United States. Frigidaire dishwashers are made in Kinston, North Carolina.
Bosch dishwashers are manufactured in factories in La Follette, Tennessee, and New Bern, North Carolina. These dishwashers are made for both the Bosch line and the Thermador division. Whirlpool assembles retro-looking dishwashers and appliances in its plant located in Boulder, Colorado. While these models are assembled in the United States, other Whirlpool, Maytag and GE appliances are manufactured both here in the United States and overseas.
Companies that manufacture a majority but not all of their appliances in the United States include Wolf, Viking, Sub-Zero and Dacor. Some companies are beginning to invest more in their U.S. manufacturing sites rather than sending the work overseas. As of 2015, GE has invested money for new appliance lines to be built throughout the United States, including Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee.
