Installing shutters is not a difficult process. It is important to use shutters that are custom built for each window and to follow the instructions carefully.
Companies normally sell shutters with a full set of instructions. People should purchase shutters that are fit to 1/16 of an inch. This results in an easier installation process. Some shutters have mortised hinges that allow for a tighter fit. It is best to use steel tape for the most accurate measurement. Do not measure with fabric tape, a wooden ruler or a yard stick. Installing shutters directly to the jamb inside the window is generally the best method.
