According to Inspectapedia.com (quoting 2012 IRC plumbing code), 12.4.1 states that vent pipes must terminate a minimum of 6 inches above the roof, except in cases where the roof is used for purposes other than weather protection. In such cases, the vents must be properly supported and extend 7 feet above the roof.

Code 12.4.4 provides that vent terminals must not be placed under any door, ventilating opening or window. Furthermore, no vent shall exist within 10 feet horizontally of any aforementioned opening unless it is a minimum of 2 feet above such opening.
