The furnaces were sold at authorized plumbing and heating stores nationwide between July 2006 and February 2009 for about $6,000. The temperature gauge on these units can fail and cause fire in the fuel storage hopper, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers. An estimate of about 600 units were suspect to recall. Consumers were asked to stop using the recalled furnaces immediately and contact Northwest Manufacturing to schedule a free repair.
